Privacy policy
Last revised 1 March 2026. Applies to Net Inc., its networks, this website and its email service, in the United States, the United Kingdom and mainland Europe.
The short version
We collect what we need to connect you, bill you and fix faults. We do not sell, rent or broker your personal information or your browsing activity, to anyone, for any price. We do not insert advertising into your traffic and we do not log the websites you visit. If that ever changes we will tell every customer in writing before it takes effect — not by quietly editing this page.
1. What we collect
1.1 Information you give us
- Name, service address, billing address, telephone number and email address.
- Payment details. Card numbers are handled by our payment processor and are not stored on our systems; bank draft details are held encrypted.
- What you tell us in a support call, an email, a form on this website, or to a representative during a site visit.
- For business and satellite accounts, a company name and technical and billing contacts.
- Site survey records: photographs of the mount point, signal measurements and the written report. These stay on the account file.
1.2 Information the service generates
- Connection records. When your equipment connected and disconnected, which address it was assigned, and how much data passed. Used to diagnose faults and plan capacity.
- Aggregate traffic volumes per circuit, per exchange and per tower sector.
- Call detail records for digital phone: numbers called, time and duration. We do not record the content of calls.
- Equipment telemetry from the router, ONT, modem or radio we supplied — signal levels, error counts, uptime.
1.3 What we deliberately do not collect
- We do not log DNS queries beyond a rolling twenty-four-hour operational cache, and we do not analyse them.
- We do not perform deep packet inspection on customer traffic for any commercial purpose.
- We do not maintain a record of the websites you visit.
- We do not track you across other websites. This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies of any kind.
2. Why we use it
- To provide, install and repair the service you bought.
- To bill you and collect payment.
- To answer you when you contact us.
- To plan where to build next and where to add capacity, using aggregate figures.
- To protect the network from abuse and to act on abuse reports under the acceptable use policy.
- To meet obligations imposed on us by law.
That is the complete list. We do not use your information for third-party marketing and we do not build advertising profiles.
3. When we disclose it
- To contractors who work for us — a payment processor, a mailing house for printed bills, an emergency call routing provider for 911, and partner tower operators where your radio link rides their infrastructure. Each is bound by contract to use the information only to perform that job.
- When the law requires it — a subpoena, a court order or a warrant. Our practice is to require legal process rather than an informal request, to disclose only what the process actually compels, and to notify the affected customer unless we are prohibited from doing so.
- In an emergency involving a risk of death or serious injury, where delay would be dangerous.
- With your explicit consent, for that specific purpose.
We publish a transparency count each January: how many legal demands we received in the previous year, how many we complied with, and how many we resisted or narrowed. For 2025 the numbers were fifty-one demands across the three regions, forty-four complied with, six narrowed after objection and one refused.
4. CPNI
Customer proprietary network information — broadly, what services you buy, how you use your phone line and what appears on your bill — is protected under section 222 of the federal Communications Act. We use CPNI to provide and bill your service. We do not use it to market other services to you and we do not share it outside the company for marketing. You do not need to opt out, because we never opted you in.
Before we discuss account details by telephone we will authenticate you, usually by a password you set or a call back to the number on the account. This occasionally annoys people, and we do it anyway.
5. Customers in the United Kingdom and Europe
Where UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies to you, our lawful bases are performance of the contract for service delivery and billing, legal obligation for retention and law-enforcement response, and legitimate interests for network security and capacity planning. You have the rights those regulations give you — access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection — and you can exercise them at the contact below. You may also complain to your national supervisory authority. Personal data may be transferred between our United States, United Kingdom and European entities under standard contractual clauses; the same policy applies wherever it sits.
6. How long we keep it
- Account and billing records
- Seven years after the account closes, as required for tax and regulatory purposes
- Connection records
- Ninety days, then deleted
- DNS resolver cache
- Twenty-four hours, not archived
- Call detail records
- Eighteen months, as required for billing disputes
- Site survey records
- Three years, or until the account closes if sooner
- Support tickets and correspondence
- Three years
- Website form submissions
- Twelve months in the mailbox they are delivered to, then deleted
7. This website
This site sets no cookies. There is no analytics package, no tag manager, no advertising pixel and no social media widget. Our web server keeps standard access logs — IP address, time, page requested — for fourteen days for security purposes, and they are then deleted.
The forms on the contact, request service and satellite pages use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from robots. Turnstile sends Cloudflare technical signals about the browser session; it does not track you across sites and does not build an advertising profile. The message itself is delivered to our own mailbox by email and is not stored in a third-party database.
8. Security
Access to customer records is limited to employees who need it for their job and is logged. Representatives carry account data on managed, encrypted devices and cannot export it. Our corporate network is separated from the customer-facing network. Backups are encrypted. Payment card data does not touch our systems.
If we suffer a breach affecting your personal information we will notify you directly — by telephone or letter, not by a notice buried on a web page — as soon as we understand what happened, and within the deadlines the law sets in your jurisdiction.
9. Your rights
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you. We will provide it within thirty days, free of charge.
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong.
- Ask us to close your account and delete what we are not legally required to retain.
- Ask which legal demands, if any, have concerned your account, where we are permitted to say.
Write to the address below or email privacy@neweratele.com. A person reads that mailbox.
10. Children
Our service is sold to adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we have no product aimed at them.
11. Changes to this policy
If we make a change that reduces your protection under this policy, we will notify every affected customer by email and on the bill at least thirty days before it takes effect. Minor clarifications are noted by changing the revision date at the top.
